Enea Eraser is designed from the ground up with a single principle: what happens on your disk, stays on your disk.
Enea Eraser collects absolutely no personal data. It does not connect to the internet, does not send analytics, does not track usage, and does not require an account. Everything it does happens entirely on your Mac, under your control.
Enea Eraser does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. There is no account creation, no registration, and no user identification of any kind.
The following data is never collected:
Enea Eraser requests elevated system access solely to perform its core function: securely overwriting data on selected storage volumes. No access is used for any other purpose.
Authorization Services framework — Enea Eraser never sees or stores
your password. Privileges are used exclusively to open the raw device
(/dev/rdiskX) for writing and are released immediately after the
operation completes.
itemReplacementDirectory API. This file is used solely to fill
unused sectors with the chosen overwrite pattern. It is deleted automatically when
each pass completes. No other files are read, modified, or accessed.
Enea Eraser makes zero network connections. It does not communicate with any server, service, or external endpoint — ever.
The application functions entirely offline and is suitable for use in air-gapped or network-restricted environments.
Enea Eraser stores minimal data locally on your Mac, limited to what is necessary for the application to function between sessions.
UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and can be
cleared at any time by removing the app's preference file from
~/Library/Preferences/.
Enea Eraser uses no third-party SDKs, frameworks, or services. It is built exclusively using Apple's native frameworks — SwiftUI, Security, Foundation, and AppKit — which are provided by macOS and subject to Apple's own privacy practices.
No advertising networks, analytics libraries, or external APIs of any kind are integrated into the application.
Enea Eraser does not collect any information from any user, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected whatsoever, the application inherently complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations worldwide.
If this privacy policy is updated, the new version will be published at the same URL with a revised effective date. Given that Enea Eraser collects no data, material changes to this policy are unlikely.
Continued use of the application after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
